A new, one-off grant scheme for roofs and gutters of listed places of worship has been announced which may be of interest to eligible congregations.
Fifteen million pounds is available, for grants of between £10k and £100k. But the timescales for applications are exceptionally short – though if you are awarded a grant, you will then have reasonable time to complete the work.
You are not required to have gained all necessary statutory permissions from the planning or denominational authorities prior to applying for a grant. However, you will need to show that the works are required, for example by using a relatively recent architect’s inspection report.
Anyone wishing to benefit from this will need to move fast, as applications have to be submitted by the end of January 2015. For further details of the scheme and on how to apply please visit the grant schemes website by following the link below.
